Frequently asked questions

How do I merge PDF files into one?

Open Merge PDF, add two or more PDFs (drag and drop works for several at once), put them in the order you want and press Run. The pages are combined into a single PDF that keeps each page's original size and orientation. It is free for 3 jobs a day, with no account and no ads.

Can I choose the order of the files before merging?

Yes. The files are merged in the order shown in the list, so use the move up and move down arrows before you press Run; the first file becomes the first pages of the result. A quick trick is to name the files 01, 02, 03 so they are already sorted when you pick them.

How many PDFs can I merge at once?

From 2 up to 50 files in a single job. If you have more, merge them in groups and then merge the results; each group counts as one of the 3 free jobs a day. Large files take longer to upload, so compress them first if you plan to email the result.

Is merging PDFs free, and is there a limit?

Yes, Merge PDF is free with no ads, no account and no watermark. Free use is 3 jobs a day per person, renewed daily, and each merge counts as one job whatever the number of files; Premium covers heavier use.

Will the merged PDF keep the digital signatures of the original files?

No. A digital signature certifies one exact file, and merging creates a new file, so any certificate-based signatures in the originals become invalid and the viewer will no longer show them as verified. Merge first and sign the final document afterwards, or keep the signed originals alongside the merged copy.

Can I merge password-protected PDFs?

Files that only carry owner restrictions and open without a password merge normally. Files with an open password must be unlocked first: run Unlock PDF with the password you know, merge the unlocked copies, and protect the merged file again with Protect PDF if it still contains sensitive data.

Are my files safe when I merge them online?

All files are uploaded over HTTPS, merged on our servers and deleted together with the result as soon as the job finishes. Nobody reads them and nothing is shared with third parties. Download the merged PDF and no copy remains on our side.

Can I merge PDFs on my phone without an account?

Yes. Merge PDF runs in the browser on iPhone and Android, so you can pick several files from your phone's storage or cloud drive, order them and download the combined PDF, with nothing to install and no sign-up. The 3 free jobs a day apply per person on any device.
